Oof that king pork cutlet is no joke! $10.95+tax for an enormous pork cutlet with rice and generous salad portions is a fantastic deal! I can see why this is such a popular place to go to in this food court.
I do like the cutlet. It's crispy and the meat isn't dry. There was barely any bad tasting parts of the cutlet. They actually give you plenty of the actual meat and they're not cheating you with a thick batter like other places. I do have to say it's not really outstanding to me as I've had abroad so that's why I can't really give this place five stars. But props to them for managing to serve a good cutlet at such a great price point!
There was also a gravy type of sauce, which I thought was unique and had a good taste.
Although there was a line, I didn't have to wait too long for the food to come out.
And, like other places, they have a free water machine. -

The portion is so big, food is always solid, very good. The price is very affordable.
I recommend korean rice juice (Sikhye Slush) next store as well. -

There are a lot of choices, but there reason why their #1 special (king pork cutlet for $10.95+ tax and tip) is so popular is because IT'S A LOT OF FOOD.
The cutlet - topped with well-seasoned katsu sauce - is HUGE, like bigger than your face HUGE, I promise. Fried to order, it was crispy and spiced perfect. The meat was cooked tender. Like that wasn't enough eye candy for your tummy, it also came with a side of macaroni salad, cabbage salad, pickled radish and a scoop of rice.
FOOD: 5. Quality and quantity are spot on.
SERVICE: 3. It is a food court, so there wasn't really a lot of interaction other than taking our orders and getting paged for pick up.
VALUE: 5. $10.95 (+tax and tip) for all that?! Yaassss....
PARKING: Free for this visit.
OVERALL: 5. (Based on food and value alone.)
Would love to try all their other dishes. Coming back first opportunity. -

There were a lot of restaurants in the Koreatown Plaza food court, but Tonkatsu House stood out for its huge platters of katsu. For around $12, I got a huge plate of cheesy pork katsu, rice, coleslaw, macaroni salad, and side of tonkatsu sauce. The katsu was super crispy and goes really well with the sauce.
